Much like with any certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Paul A. Watterson won’t perform a surgery unless a patient has met with him for a consultation. If you are considering getting a breast augmentation, then you may be wondering what you can expect from your consultation. Not only will Dr. Watterson examine you and discuss your options, but he also encourages patients to come to their consultation appointment with a list of questions. To help you go into your appointment feeling a little bit more informed out what you can expect, let’s’ look at three things that we will address during your consultation.
Breast Size
One of the biggest things that we will go over during your consultation is the size of breasts that you want. Typically, Dr. Watterson will present you with few sizes that he thinks will be good for you based on your chest size. Then, from there, you can go over what kinds of things that you are hoping for such as cleavage and a little bit of side boob.
Implant Type
Another thing that we will go cover during your constellation is the type of implant that you want. Here at our office, we offer patients two main type of implants: saline and silicone. Silicone is usually more popular because it has a more natural texture, but a lot of patients like saline because if it leaks, you will be able to tell right away. During your appointment, we will discuss the differences between the different implant types and then help you choose the one that’s best for you.
Breast Shape
Another thing that you may not be aware of is that implants now come in two different shapes. Traditionally, implants were just round, but nowadays there are teardrop shaped implants that are on the market. Some patients prefer teardrop shaped implant because they give off a more natural look. During your consultation we will let you look at these different shaped implants to help you decide which one may be better for you.
Breasts aren’t something that you just want to do willy nilly. We encourage all of our patients to take their time deciding on the size, type, and shape of implants that they want, but Dr. Watterson will be there every step of the way if needed.
