How to Tell If You Need a Breast Lift

When patients typically think about breast surgeries, they usually only think about breast augmentations. Although breast augmentation continues to remain the most popular breast surgery that patines elect to get, breast lift surgery is gaining more and more popularity. By getting rid of excess skin, while also lifting the breast in the process, Dr. Watterson’s goal during a breast lift is to give you more youthful, perkier looking breasts. But, how can you tell if you would benefit from this surgery?

You Have Breastfed

Not every woman who has breastfed will need a breast lift, but it’s safe to say that a fair amount of women will. Because breastfeeding causes breasts to deflate and lose elasticity, the only real way to fix this solution is with surgery.

You Have lost a lot of Weight

If you have lost a lot of weight, then congratulations! Losing weight is something that takes a lot of physical and emotional strength, and when you meet your goal, it can feel life-changing. One thing that a lot of people don’t realize about losing weight though is that t can also leave you with a lot of excess skin in the process (especially around your breasts). If you feel like your breasts look droopy and deflated ever since you lost a lot of weight, then you may be the perfect candidate for a lift.

You Are Aging

No matter how much Botox you get, you are still going to age. One of the downfalls of aging is that it can cause your skin to lose elasticity and start to droop. If you have noticed that as you have begun to age that your breasts aren’t as perky as they once were, then you may benefit from a lift.

Typically, Dr. Watterson will perform a breast lift in conjunction with breast implants. Although some women are good candidates for a breast reduction on its own, other women will need the shape and structure of an implant to make their breasts look symmetrical and full.
