What is the Gummy Bear Implant?
Gummy bear implants are ultimately thicker than traditional implants. With silicone gel in a silicone shell, these implants are thicker towards the bottom and taper towards the top, mimicking the natural “teardrop” shape of a breast. Because of its thickness, the gummy bear implant also creates a more firm hold, keeping the breast in place and in shape, with a lower risk of rupture, ripping, and other implant problems.
Who Is a Candidate for the Gummy Bear Implant?
The gummy bear implant requires patients to have at least a B-size cup of breast tissue to hold enough of the implant to produce noticeable results. Ideal candidates should also be in good overall health, non-smokers, and be prepared to spend several weeks away from work and in recovery following the procedure. In comparison to other implants, such as the saline-based implant, the gummy bear implant is perfect for patients with smaller size of breast tissue to work with who are looking for an improved, natural appearance.
If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, have an active infection or currently have breast cancer, this procedure is not suitable for you.

Allergan’s Natrelle breast implants are one of the best-known implants for looking and feeling natural. Available in many different sizes, these implants are perfect for anyone, but especially for patients as young as 22 years old. These implants also work for breast reconstruction.
Mentor
Favored by many plastic surgeons, Mentor implants is one of the best brands for patients interested in breast augmentation and increasing the size of their breasts. Mentor’s silicone-based implants create a soft, yet firm hold, adding a healthy amount of volume to the natural breast tissue.
Sientra
Sientra implants are made of high-quality silicone gel, which is also form-stable, keeping them from changing shape. Although they are available in different shapes and sizes, the Sientra teardrop-shaped implant comes with a contoured top portion with additional volume at the bottom, giving breasts a natural, fuller-looking appearance.
How Long Will My Gummy Bear Implants Last?
Gummy bear implants can last up to at least 20 years before patients should revisit Dr. Watterson for an adjustment or follow-up procedure. Because breast implants will not stop the aging process, your body and breasts may change in appearance over the course of a decade or two.
