We all know by now that eyebrows can seriously change the way your face looks, but think about the rest of your forehead’s effect on your overall appearance as well. Many of our facial expressions use our brow and forehead creating lines as we get older. Another sign of aging can be the way the skin in your brow area starts to sag or droop. But fear not, there are options to get that youthful look back.
Forehead lifts were designed to give you a younger more refreshed look to the area above your eyes. This procedure focuses on smoothing out your furrowed forehead and removing excess tissue that creates drooping brows and hooding over your eyes.
A brow/forehead lift can achieve:
- Raise sagging eyebrows that hood the upper eyelids
- Softening of horizontal brow lines
- Softening of vertical frown lines
- Softening of the wrinkle that can occur on the bridge of the nose between the eyes
- Place the eyebrows in a more alert and youthful position
How Long Does A Brow Lift Procedure Take?
A forehead lift usually takes between 1-2 hours.
Are There Side Effects To A Forehead Lift?
As with any procedure, some side effects are to be expected. Some common side effects include temporary swelling, numbness, headaches and bruising. The pain usually only happens for the first day or two and can be managed with oral medications. Bruising and swelling tend to subside in seven to 14 days.
What Is The Recovery Like?
Getting back to your daily routine like going back to work should only take about two to three days and sometimes even sooner if you undergo an endoscopic lift vs traditional. For exercise or other more strenuous activities, it can take several weeks. Bruising should subside within two to three weeks.
How Long Do The Results Last?
Results can last up to 15 years.
Are There Risks To A Forehead Lift?
As with any surgery, there are risks of infections or blood clots. But we can discuss your health history and risks during your consultation.
