How to Maintain Your Liposuction Results

So, you just got liposuction! Congrats! We hope you’re enjoying your slimmer and trimmer look. But don’t get too complacent with your results. Even though liposuction has helped you slim down those hard-to-lose fatty areas like your abdominal region, upper thighs, or even your arms, that doesn’t mean your body will stay this way forever. Yes, unfortunately, there are still some things you’ll have to do to maintain these results. But you are in luck, now you have a head start so as long as you keep making healthy choices the results should be long-lasting.
In addition to being beneficial to your overall health and well-being, your diet is paramount to maintaining your liposuction results. Even though your body may be looking close to what you were aiming for after your procedure, it’s best to refrain from going too crazy with your diet. If you start to overindulge it can be hard to get back on track and then you could end up back where you started. We recommend eating whole grains, lean meats, fruits, and vegetables for most of your diet. You can then have some carbohydrates in moderation but still try to limit added sugars. It may take you a while to get used to eating this way, but your waistline will thank you.
Without exercise, it’s unlikely that your liposuction results will stay long-term. Coupled with the diet outlined above though, you should be able to keep unwanted fat off and even tone up. After you’ve been cleared to begin exercising again, we recommend that you do. No matter what area you had liposuction on, whether it was your thighs, arms, or abdominal area, try out some strength and toning exercises. Getting back into fitness may seem difficult at first but go easy on yourself. Start by working out for just 10-15 minutes a couple of times a week. Then you can work yourself up to longer and harder workouts. Be easy on yourself but don’t give up. Exercise is important for your overall health, in addition to its body-sculpting benefits.
